Fabrication Technician

Position Overview:


The Fabrication Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely fabrication, assembly, and testing of custom fluid system assemblies and components in accordance with Swagelok specifications and customer requirements. This role ensures product quality, maintains production efficiency, and supports continuous improvement initiatives in a team-based environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble custom fluid system components, including tube bending, welding, cutting, and threading, using appropriate equipment and tools.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and written instructions to ensure accurate builds.

  • Perform quality inspections and pressure testing to ensure assemblies meet Swagelok and customer specifications.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and safety standards.

  • Collaborate with the engineering and customer service teams to resolve technical questions and clarify customer requirements.

  • Accurately record fabrication data, including job travelers, inspection reports, and quality documentation.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment malfunctions as needed.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements and participating in lean initiatives.

  • Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and work instructions.

 

Experience Requirements:

Education:      
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in welding, machining, or industrial manufacturing preferred.

Experience:    

  • 1–3 years of experience in a fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Swagelok components or fluid system assemblies is a plus.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and job specifications.
  • Proficiency in the use of fabrication tools and equipment (e.g., tube benders, saws, welders, pressure test equipment).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry, work order tracking systems).

This is a full-time, 5 days on-site position.

Salary Range:

$24.00  - $30.00 hour

We provide salary ranges in all job postings in accordance with Massachusetts pay transparency guidelines. Actual pay will be determined by skills, experience, and qualifications.
